EMS Hiring Assessment


EMS Technicians


All technician candidates must successfully complete an EMS hiring assessement process prior to being offered employment with Pasquotank-Camden EMS.  After all candidates have completed the hiring assessment process, a hiring list will be created.  Based on the number of open positions, eligible technicians from this list will be offered employment.  


The technician EMS hiring assessment includes the following evaluation stations:


  • EMS based interview panel

  • EMS skills evaluation (dependent upon certification level)

  • EMS written evaluation

  • EMS agility test


This process takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete. 


EMS Supervisors and Administrative Staff


All upper level staff candidates must successfully complete an EMS hiring assessement prior to being offered an upper level position with Pasquotank-Camden EMS.  Upper level positions may be filled internally, however, at times these position are posted externally.  Regardless of the advertised route, an EMS hiring assessment will be completed.


The EMS hiring assessment for EMS Supervisors and Administrative Staff includes the following evaluation stations:


  • EMS based interview panel

  • EMS based in-basket exercise

  • EMS based medical oral board

  • EMS based scene management scenario (operations) or teaching session (training)


This assessment process takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete.
